Therapy shouldn’t be a pain in the ass.

Ok, so that poll never actually took place as far as I can find but the truth remains: most men don’t want to see a therapist. Sure, younger generations are more accepting of it but there is still the stigma attached to getting help for “problems” that we perceive no one else has. Well, I have news for you. They do have them. Lots of people have them. Hell, your dad and grandfather likely had these issues. It’s called life. I’m not talking about the one or two days a week that you wake up and think, “man I’d rather stay in bed than go to work”. I am talking about the “most days of the week, most weeks of the month I’d like to run off and live under a self-made lean-to in the middle of that bunch of trees over by Wal-mart, grow my beard out and eat rats and crickets for the rest of my life sounds pretty freaking awesome compared to what I have now …thought”! Those kinds of thoughts aren’t good and they can lead to you trying to Greg Louganis off an I-35 overpass (for you guys that don’t know what I am talking about check it out: https://youtu.be/jDmqBkGA4fA).

This crap is real. The life you thought you’d have by now hasn’t emerged and you’re wondering if it ever will!

What’s my purpose? Where am I going? How did I get here? All questions that most guys that walk into my office are asking. Whether those questions are in regard to marriage, career, habits, etc., we all ask them at one time or another. While I can’t give you the answer to some of these questions, what I can do is help you deal with the thoughts that keep you from answering them and provide tools to help get you closer to the answer.

Remember, the answer to most of your problems lies between your ears.
